The dynamic music duo, comprised of Joanna Sanecka and Zibby Krebs, debuted on the stage in 2021.
JOANNA STANECKA
Joanna Stanecka is an actress and graduate of the prestigious National Film, Television and Theater School in Poland. Since 2014, she has been performing on German theatre stages.
She is also recognized for her contributions to film and television, was honored with the 2018 Richeza Preis for her theatrical play in form of Polish-German drama „Moniuszko and his Europe“. In 2020, she received the prestigious “Golden Owl” prize, awarded by the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Jupiter monthly, recognizing her efforts to promote Polish culture around the world.
ZIBBY KREBS
Zibby Krebs, a guitarist (both acoustic and electric), had the incredible privilege of being the accompanist for the iconic Polish musicians, Maryla Rodowicz and Czesław Niemen, largely due to his unique musical abilities. Throughout his career, he also had the honor of performing alongside J.T. Blanton, Gregor Bissonette and Chris de Burgh.
Both artists possess a distinct set of experiences, which they integrate into their collaborative musical compositions. Their joint performances are characterized by an authentic expression of temperament and emotion, encompassing a diverse array of musical genres. Stanecka, an actress by training, expresses a keen interest in leveraging her abilities to create a stage show. Krebs, having unique experiences with a wide display of musical genres, ranging from poetic ballads to heavy metal, responds to the vocal demands of the singer with great enthusiasm.
The motivation behind this collaboration is worth exploring. Both artists are originally from Poland and currently live in Germany. They are highly sensitive individuals, placing an emphasis on connecting with their audience in an honest way. They show determination when faced with challenges, and enjoy blending different styles, cultural heritages, and musical influences in their work.
The duo performs four different programs, not counting the occasional impromptu „mix.“ They have released two albums: “Alchemy of Love”, featuring songs from the repertoires of Marlene Dietrich and Agnieszka Osiecka (in German and English) and “Dancing in Flight”, an original album with lyrics by Joanna Stanecka and music by Zibby Krebs.
These elegant, distinctive and infinitely creative artists don’t shy away from challenges, such as reimagining classic songs with a new blues-metal sound. This makes old musical literature more accessible to young people and presents it in a new light.
They perform concerts regularly in Germany, Poland, and occasionally in the US.
